LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Fairfield University baseball team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) doubleheader to Rider University at Richard F. Daly Field on Saturday afternoon. The Broncs took the first game, 8-2 and took the nightcap 6-3.

Fairfield drops to 6-28-1 overall, and 4-15 in the MAAC, after Saturday's results, while Rider improves to 16-22 overall and 10-10 in the MAAC.

The Stags were led at the plate in the first game as Sal Mancuso hit a homerun, while going 1-for-4. The Stags couldn't get to the Rider pitching staff as they managed only four hits in the first game. Doug Anderson, Antuan Barnett, and Jim Sheridan all had hits in the first game.

In he nightcap, Fairfield received some clutch hitting from Andy Lynn who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored. John Scaife also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

The Stags will close out the series with the Broncs on Sunday afternoon, with a nine-inning game starting at 12 p.m.
