FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University baseball team announced a change to the 2006 schedule. The Stags will face Indiana University during their spring break trip to Florida. The Stags and Hoosiers will square off, on Wednesday, March 15, at the IMG Sports Academy in Bradenton, Fla. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
Fairfield begins its trip to the "Sunshine State," with Duquesne on Sunday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. The Stags are slated to play seven games in six days, during the southern portion of their schedule. On Monday, March 13 Fairfield will meet Valparaiso at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, March 14, the Stags will face Eastern Kentucky at 10:30 a.m., and then will meet Eastern Illinois at 3 p.m.
The game with the Hoosiers is next on the docket for the Stags, and the trip concludes with Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday, March 16 (2:30 p.m.), and Bradley on Friday, March 17 (3 p.m.).
In addition to adding Indiana to the schedule, Fairfield will play an additional three games with Fordham University. The Stags and the Rams will play a three-game series at Fordham March 3-5. The teams will also face each other on Wednesday, April 12 at Alumni Diamond.
Fairfield opens the 2006 season with a three-game set at James Madison University, February 24-26.
Notes... Space is still available for the 2006 Winter Prospect and Instructional Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 28, and Sunday, Feb. 12. The camp is open to high school students.
