EDISON, N.J. - The Fairfield University baseball team was picked to finished 7th in the 2003 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, this afternoon.
Marist, which has won the last, three MAAC crowns were picked first with 93 points, followed by LeMoyne (87), Rider (77), Manhattan (68), Siena (66), and Iona (51). The Stags finished ahead of Niagara, Saint Peter's and Canisius.
Fairfield finished the 2002 season with a 20-30 record, and a 12-15 mark in the MAAC.
The Stags open the 2003 season with a three-game series at defending Atlantic-10 champion George Washington, March 8-9.
