FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Junior Peter Allen (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball Player of the Week after an outstanding season debut for the Stags.
Allen helped Fairfield to a 1-2 record on the week by batting .500 (6-for-12) with three doubles, two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored against Delaware State. In the win over the Hornets, the designated hitter went 2-for 3 with a double, home run, an RBI and three runs scored.
In the first game of the series, he went 2-for-4, including a home run and a double, with three RBI and one run scored. Allen wrapped up the week by going 2-for-5 with a RBI.
Fairfield will resume play next week as the Stags head to Bradenton, Fla. for their annual spring training trip. The week will be kicked off against Northern Iowa on March 11.
