Washington, D.C. - Ryan Dacey and Joe Beichert each went 2-for-4 to lead George Washington University (6-7) to a 9-2 victory over visiting Fairfield University (0-3) on Monday afternoon. Dacey had a double and two RBI, while Beichert hit a solo home run and scored twice as the Colonials completed a three-game sweep of the Stags. Jim Lopusznick drove in the two Stag runs with a single in the fifth inning.

Stag starter Steve Colcord (0-1) shut down George Washington until the fourth inning when Beichert connected for his solo shot to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead. Fairfield answered with two runs in the top half of the fifth inning on a two-run single by Lopusznick, driving in Matt Fratturelli and Ryan Bittner.

George Washington bounced right back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and then went on to score five runs in the sixth and add one more in the eighth to extend its lead and pull away with the win.

Fairfield returns to action with a single game at Davidson (3:00 pm).
