FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University baseball team's 2004 home opener against Stony Brook, on Saturday and the University at Albany on Sunday has been postponed.
No make-up information is available at this time.
The Stags were scheduled to play doubleheaders, consisting of two seven-inning games against Stony Brook and Albany, but a snow covered Alumni Diamond forced postponement of the twin bills.
Fairfield is 2-5 on the season, after returning from a Florida trip, in which the Stags went 2-3, after dropping a 5-0 decision to Dartmouth on March 18. The Stags picked up wins over
Sophomore Doug Anderson and senior Sal Mancuso are riding five-game hitting streaks. Anderson is batting .333 on the season with three homeruns and nine runs batted in. He also has a .792 slugging percentage, and a .407 on-base percentage.
