On Deck...

The Fairfield University baseball team begins a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series with a doubleheader against Niagara this afternoon. Fairfield is 2-10-1 (0-3 MAAC) after tying Army on Thursday afternoon. Niagara is 9-8 (3-0 MAAC) entering the weekend.

Stag Tracks...

Junior Pablo Tamayo (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) struck out seven batters against Siena last Saturday afternoon. He is tied with fellow classmate Tom Maisano (Farmingdale, NY/Chaminade) for second on the team with 12 K's. Senior Paul Gorra (Quaker Hill, Conn./Waterford) leads the team with 13 punchouts.

**Junior Antuan Barnett (Bronx, NY/Rice) continues to produce at the plate this season. He leads the team with two home runs and seven RBI, while raising his average to .300 after Sunday's game. Last season the Rice graduate hit .262 with seven home runs and 29 RBI.

**Freshman Doug Anderson (Randolph, NJ/Delbarton) is tied for the team-lead in hits with 12. The Freshman is having a solid start to his collegiate career hitting .286 with one home run and five runs batted in. He also is tied for the team lead in doubles with five.

Last Time Out...

Fairfield tied Army 3-3, on Thursday afternoon at West Point. The game was called after nine innings due to darkness. It was the first tie for the Stags since the 1996 season.

Up Next...

Both teams will complete the series with a nine-inning game. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. on the Alumni Diamond.
