FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University baseball team hosts Saint Peter's College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series at Alumni Diamond. This weekend's MAAC series is the first home series of the season for the Stags.

Last Year vs. SPC: Fairfield took 2-of-3 from the Peacocks at Jaroschak Field in Jersey City, N.J. In the first game of the Saturday doubleheader, the Stags pounded out 25 hits and scored 16 runs, en route to a 16-6 thumping. Antuan Barnett led Fairfield going 3-for-6 with a double and four runs batted in. In the nightcap of the twin bill Saint Peter's scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 5-4 win. On Sunday, the Stags defeated Saint Peter's 4-1 to take the series.

Quick Hits: Fairfield is looking to gain some ground in the MAAC this weekend, after dropping three games to Marist in the first MAAC series of the season ... The Stags lead the MAAC in fielding percentage with a .972 rating heading into the weekend ... The youngsters have come through for Head Coach John Slosar in the early going, as freshman Brian Rudolph leads the team in hitting with a .364 batting average, he is riding a seven-game hitting streak .... 12 of his 20 hits are of the extra base variety ... Sophomore Brian Schappert is batting .303 with three runs batted in ... Freshman Adam Chilelli is fourth on the team with a .267 batting average.

Around the MAAC: Besides the Fairfield-Saint Peter's series, the rest of the league is in action this weekend ... Canisius is at Iona, Manhattan is at Siena, Rider is at Marist, and Niagara travels to Le Moyne.

Upcoming: Following the weekend series with Saint Peter's, the Stags are slated to travel to the University of Hartford on Tuesday, April 5, before hosting the University at Albany on Wednesday afternoon, at 3 p.m. Next weekend the Stags will head to Syracuse, N.Y. for a three-game MAAC series with Le Moyne College.
