EDISON, N.J. - Fairfield University baseball freshman Brian Rudolph (Washington Township, N.J./Bergen Catholic) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Rudolph, has been on a tear as of late, including last week where he batted .625 (10-16), and also smacked four doubles. Last Monday on the road at Marist the Bergen Catholic grad went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored.

Against Connecticut, he was 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI, and in Sunday's 29-10 thumping over Saint Peter's, he was 3-for-7 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

On Monday, in the makeup doubleheader against the Peacocks, Rudolph went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and a run batted in.

The freshman is leading the team in hitting with a .362 batting average, and leads the team with 25 hits, 13 of which are the extra base variety. He currently has a 10-game hitting streak, and sports a .413 on-base percentage.

Fairfield is back in action on Tuesday afternoon, as it travels to the University of Hartford, and returns to Alumni Diamond on Wednesday to host the University at Albany for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
