On Deck... The Fairfield University baseball team returns home to open a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series with Saint Peter's College on Saturday afternoon. The Stags enter with a 5-15-1 overall record, and a 3-5 mark in the MAAC. The Peacocks are 1-15 overall, and 1-8 in the MAAC.

All-Time vs. Saint Peter's... Fairfield leads the all-time series 70-31, as Fairfield won the 101st meeting between the two schools last year, 10-6.

About the Saint Peter's... Saint Peter's has struggled this season winning only once in its first 16 games of the season. The Peacocks defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University, 22-3, as they pounded out 21 hits on the afternoon.

Last Time Out... Despite having 12 hits against Massachusetts pitching the Fairfield University baseball team fell to UMass 15-9 on the road Thursday afternoon. Andy Lynn, Greg Batista, Antuan Barnett, Nick Hudyma, and Greg Leaver each had two hits on the afternoon. Batista also smacked his third homerun of the season, along with his sixth double.

Multiple Powers... Juniors Sal Mancuso and Andy Lynn lead the Stags with eight multiple hit games this season. The duo each has produced six two-hit games, and a pair of three-hit outings.

Nick Of Time... Junior Nick Hudyma continued his strong junior campaign by going 2-for-4 with a walk against UMass. His average has risen to .339 with 21 hits in 62 at-bats. The New Britain, Conn. native also leads the team with a .453 on-base percentage and has a slugging percentage of .532.

1-for-2... Fairfield was scheduled to play two midweek games this week, but due to the weather in the Northeast it was only able to play at Massachusetts on Thursday. The Hartford game has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced as of yet.

New Arm Every Inning... Fairfield faced nine pitchers against UMass on Thursday afternoon. The Minutemen did not play in over a week, due to the weather. Fairfield trotted out five hurlers as starter Tim Dugan, and reliever Sean Keegan each pitched two innings of work.

In The Pen... Junior Matt Thiffault has been steady in relief for the Stags with two saves and a 1.86 ERA in seven appearances this season. Thiffault has improved his numbers over last season as he had a 6.49 ERA with two saves, and a 0-2 record.

Up Next... Fairfield is scheduled to face Saint Peter's in the completion of the three-game set, on Sunday afternoon in a nine-inning game, with first pitch slated for 12 p.m.
