FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University baseball game against Fordham University, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The game will not be rescheduled.
Fairfield will return to the diamond this weekend for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series at Rider University. Fairfield is 7-8 in the MAAC, and has won three of its last four conference match ups, including taking two-of-three against Niagara, last weekend.
Wednesday's tilt was scheduled to be the final non-conference game, of the season for the Stags.
Fairfield and Rider will play a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, with first pitch slated for 12 p.m., at Sonny Pittaro Baseball Field on the Rider campus in Lawrenceville, N.J. The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon with a single game, beginning at 12 p.m.
