FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University baseball team, heads to Jersey City, N.J., this weekend for its second-to-last Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) series of the season, on Saturday afternoon. The Stags head to the Garden State, looking to get back to winning ways, after getting swept by MAAC leader LeMoyne, last weekend.

Fairfield enters the weekend with a 14-23 overall record, and a 9-12 mark in the MAAC, while the Peacocks have a 7-29 overall record, and a 3-18 MAAC record.

The first game of the doubleheader has been pushed back to 1 p.m., for a ceremony to honor a former player.

Series vs. Saint Peter's... The long running series between the two tri-state area schools continues this weekend. The teams' have met 104 previous times, and the Stags hold a commanding 71-33 edge.

Quick Hits... Before last Sunday's game with LeMoyne, the Fairfield University baseball team honored its 10 graduating seniors in a short ceremony. Antuan Barnett, Nick Hudyma, Andy Lynn, Tom Maisano, Sal Mancuso, Pat Quinn, Jim Sheridan, Pablo Tamayo, Mike Wray, and Matt Young comprised the class of 2004 for the Stags ... Junior right hander Tim Dugan stretched his team-high strikeout total to 55 with nine strikouts against LeMoyne on Saturday afternoon. Five came within the first eight outs of the game ... Hudyma had a stolen base against LeMoyne last weekend to add to his 17 career-best swipes this season ... Junior David Soucy leads the team in hitting with a .298 batting average ... Barnett has team-highs in homeruns (5), RBI (25), and slugging percentage (.478) ... Despite a rough outing last time out, freshman Ed Kamintzky has a 4-0 record in 11 appearances out of the bullpen. He also has a 2.67 ERA, and 25 strikeouts in 27.0 innings of work ... Saint Peter's dropped three games to Siena last weekend ... Jaren Fowler is the team's leading hitter with a .299 batting average, and three homeruns and 17 runs batted in ... Sean Spicer has a 3-7 record with a 4.87 ERA in 61.0 innings of work.

Around the MAAC... Conference action begins on Friday with LeMoyne traveling to Niagara, and Manhattan heading to Canisius. The rest of the MAAC slate resumes with the Fairfield-Saint Peter's twin bill and Siena at Marist on Saturday.

Looking Ahead... Fairfield closes out the MAAC regular season May 20-21 for a three-game series at Manhattan College.
