Fairfield, Conn. - Dan Krines (Huntington, N.Y.), a sophomore pitcher on the Fairfield University baseball team, has been named to the All-New England Second Team and will play in the New England College All-Star game on Saturday, June 3, at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn.

The 6-foot-3 righty helped the Stags to the best season in program history by going 8-2 with a 3.39 ERA. Krines set a new program record as he tossed 103.2 innings this year, completed nine games and struck out 44 while walking just 14. His eight wins tied another single season program record. He earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Pitcher of the Week honors on May 15 after allowing just one run in 11 innings against Siena. In the first round of the MAAC Tournament, Krines went the distance to defeat LeMoyne 3-1 and gave the Stags a berth in the MAAC Championship game.

Fairfield finished the season at 26-20, setting a new program record for wins in a season. After starting out 2-11, they went on to win 24 of their last 33 games. The Stags also set a new program record for conference wins in a season, finishing third in the league at 17-8.
