FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Former Fairfield University pitcher Tim Dugan (2002-05), signed a professional contract with the North Shore Spirit, of the CanAm League (IND), on June 3. Dugan joins former Stag Dan Krines, of the Bridgeport Bluefish, as former Fairfield baseball players in the professional ranks.

Dugan has yet to make his professional debut with the Spirit, as their two games over the weekend were washed out.

In his Fairfield career, Dugan recorded 13 wins, with a career-high seven in his senior season. He finished third on the school's all-time strikeout list with 189, and is currently tied for third on the all-time appearance list with 51.

The Cedar Grove, N.J. native, took the ball for 31 starts, and pitched in over 241 innings in his career for the Stags. He logged 84.1 innings as a senior, and struck out a career-high 72 batters, while walking only 30.

As a junior, despite being hit with a hard luck 3-8 record, he recorded a 3.56 ERA, and led the team with 61 strikeouts. He gave no homeruns and only 18 walks. On March 27, 2004 against Marist College, he recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts, giving up one run on six hits, in eight and a third innings of work.
