Fairfield, Conn. - Dan Krines (Huntington, N.Y.), a pitcher on the Fairfield University baseball team was named to the Cape Cod Baseball League Eastern Division All-Star team today. Krines was also named the starting pitcher for his squad that will take on the Western Division All-Stars on Saturday, July 22, at Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Harwich, Mass., at 4:00 p.m.
Krines, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound righty who will be entering his junior year at Fairfield this fall, earned a spot with the Chatham Athletics this summer and has made the most of it. Krines was also named to the All-New England Second Team, the ABCA/Rawlings Division I All-Northeast Second Team and played in the New England College All-Star game on Saturday, June 3, at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn. He tossed two innings, allowed one hit and no runs as he helped the Division I all-stars defeat the Division II & III squad.
