FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Former Fairfield University pitcher, Dan Krines, a member of the Bridgeport Bluefish, earned a save in the 2005 Atlantic League All-Star Game at the Sandcastle in Atlantic City, N.J., on Wednesday July, 13.

Krines, who was named to the All-Star Game, as an alternate for the North squad, pitched a perfect ninth inning, helping the North to a 9-6 victory over the South.

"It was an incredible honor to be down there," Krines said last week before a Bluefish game. "To be included with some of the guys in this league and what they have done in the past, it was a great experience and a great honor."

The North All-Stars trailed 5-1 after three innings, but scored eight unanswered runs to come away with the win.

His Bridgeport teammate, Josh Miller earned the victory for the North pitching two and two thirds innings, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk.

In the first half of this season, Krines was 4-2 with a 4.13 ERA. The former Stag has displayed effective control this season for the Bluefish. With games played through Saturday, July 16, he had 28 strikeouts and allowed only 11 walks.

At Fairfield, Krines had his best season in 2000, as he was 8-2 with a 3.39 ERA in 103.2 innings of work. He is second all-time in complete games at Fairfield with 18, while garnering All-New England and All-Northeast selections.
