FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Former Fairfield University baseball player Mike Beaudoin `79 will be inducted into the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 18. Beaudoin is being inducted along with Tami Chapman, Armand Choiniere, Lawrence "Pat" Dyer, the late Adrian Muzzy, Phil Pirog, Robert "Duke" Snyder, Jim Tracey and the late Walter Utke.

Beaudoin was a key contributor for the Stags both as a position player, and as a pitcher. At the plate, he is fourth on the school's single season homeruns list with eight, and also fourth on Fairfield's all-time slugging list, with a .544 slugging percentage.

In 1979, he knocked in 43 runs, which is still good for fourth place on the single season list.

On the mound for the Stags, the Bristol, Conn. native is second on the all-time strikeout list with 195 and third on the single-season strikeout list with 77 (1976). He also holds the school-record for innings pitched in one game with 14.1, against Bridgeport, on April 30, 1976.

He was a member of two ECAC Tournament teams for the Stags, as the 1977 team went 17-14, and the 1978 team finished the season, 20-12.

A stellar player for Bristol High School, he led the 1975 Bristol American Legion team, in both hitting and earned run average.

Beaudoin was inducted into the Fairfield University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987.

The induction ceremonies will take place at the Clarion Inn on Nov. 18 in Bristol, Conn. For more information or to purchase tickets please call Brian Farrell at (860) 583-3715.
