FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Major League Baseball player Rocco Baldelli will appear at a fundamentals clinic sponsored by Fairfield University on January 20, 2007 from 9 a.m. until noon at the University's Recreation Complex.
The three-hour clinic is open to participants ages 7-17. The attendees will be involved in a discussion on technique, including stance and balance, and will participate in various drills. Participants should wear appropriate attire and bring their own bats.
Baldelli, a native of Woonsocket, R.I., is the starting centerfielder for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Baldelli was the sixth overall pick in the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft and has quickly established himself as one of the best outfielders in the MLB. He attended Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, R.I. where was an eight-time all-state selection in four sports.
