FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Jonathan Han earned a spot on the All-Met Basketball third team, as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association announced its annual awards. The announcement was made at the organization's 75th anniversary banquet Thursday night.
Han was selected to the All-Met third team, his first selection to the prestigious team. He earned the award after leading the Fairfield University men's basketball team in scoring, averaging a team-high 11.7 points per game. He was the only Stag to average better than 10 points per game.
The guard was also the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) leader in assists, dishing off 6.2 per game, and in minutes played per game with 38.3 minutes per outing. He also placed fourth in the MAAC for steals (1.67 spg), land was the co-leader for three-point field goal percentage (.447).
Han was the only Fairfield player to start all 30 games, with the next closest Stag being Anthony Johnson with 22 starts. He moved into the Stags all-time top ten list for career assists, as his 186 assists this year raised his career total to 414. He enters next season ranked seventh all-time at Fairfield, and needs just 37 assists to move into the top five for career assists.
The junior also was honored by the MAAC for his play in 2007-08 with a spot on the All-MAAC team.
The Fairfield University men's basketball team, under head coach Ed Cooley, finished the 2007-08 campaign with a 14-16 overall record and an 11-7 MAAC mark.
