Fairfield University (14-14 overall, 11-6 MAAC) brings a seven-game winning streak into the regular-season finale against Rider, which the team extended with an 83-71 victory over Manhattan in the Stags' final home game. It marked the team's fourth straight win at home, and gave the team a 7-6 mark at home. The team reached the .500 mark for the first time since posting a 2-2 mark in mid-November. Jonathan Han posted team-high 21 points in the win against Manhattan, his fifth 20-point game of the season. Han raised his scoring average to 11.6 points per game, and remains the only Fairfield to average in double figures this season. Anthony Johnson is nearly at the mark, checking into today's game with a 9.8 scoring average. He tallied 15 points against the Jaspers, and just missed a double double with nine rebounds. He average a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game.

Rider University (20-9 overall, 12-5 MAAC) became the first MAAC team to reach the 20-win mark with its victory against Saint Peter's on Friday night. In fact, no other conference team can hit the 20-win mark in the regular season. The Broncs have recovered from a three-game skid in mid-February that came after the team posted 10 straight wins. Rider has won its last two outings - at Cal State Northridge and verus Saint Peter's on Friday night. Jason Thompson registered a double double in the Saint Peter's win, netting 33 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. The senior has been the team's leading scorer in eight of the last nine games with the one exception being a non-conference game against Northridge. Overall, Thompson has been the team's top scorer 19 times this year. Ryan Thompson (15.0 ppg) and Harris Mansell (13.9 ppg) are the other Rider players in double figures. Rider is the top scoring team in MAAC play this year (80.8 ppg) and tied for first overall with Siena (77.7 ppg).
