Fairfield University (4-9 overall, 2-1 MAAC) finishes off a four-game road swing on January 8, a trip which began with a December 28 victory at Saint Peter's. The Stags have won both of its conference road games on this trip, and own a 2-0 mark in MAAC road games to date. Both MAAC road wins were come-from-behind decisions, most recently erasing an 11-point second-half deficit at Loyola College for a 69-67 victory. Mike Evanovich tallied a team-high 20 points against the Greyhounds, tying his personal best originally set against Wake Forest in the season opener. His performance raised his scoring average to 8.3 points per game, a number which has been enhanced by his 12.0 scoring average over the last three games. Jonathan Han, who has scored in double figures in each of the last four games, leads the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game. Greg Nero is the only other Stag averaging in double figures at 10.0 points per game.

Siena College (8-5 overall, 3-0 MAAC) enters tonight's game as one of two teams with an unbeaten MAAC record, joining Niagara (4-0) for that distinction. The Saints are the top offensive team in the conference, averaging 79.2 points per game. The team's offensive success comes from its ability to shoot the three-point shot and take care of the basketball, as the Saints are connecting on a conference-best 41.2 percent of its shots from behind the arc and turning the ball over a MAAC-low 12.9 times per game. Siena has also shown some strong defensive prowess as well, leading the MAAC with just over nine steals per game. Kenny Hasbrouck leads the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game, a number which places him fourth overall among MAAC scorers. Edwin Ubiles is not far behind with a 16.5 scoring average, placing second on the team and fifth in the conference.
