
Men's Basketball Travels To Drexel For O'Reilly BracketBuster Series

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The men's basketball team will travel to the City of Brotherly Love for its 2008 O'Reilly BracketBuster match up on February 23, as the Stags will play Drexel University on the road. The game time has not been determined.
It marks the second straight season that the Stags have drawn a team from the Colonial Athletic Association for the BracketBuster. Last season, Fairfield hosted the College of William & Mary, and posted a 61-45 victory at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Fairfield's previous two BracketBuster opponents were Cal-State Northridge and Loyola-Chicago.
Drexel enters this week's action with a 9-14 overall record and a 2-9 CAA mark, which includes a 60-43 loss to Northeastern at home in its last outing. Frank Elegar leads the Dragons in scoring with a 15.5 scoring average, followed by Tramayne Hawthorne's 10.6 every forty minutes. Elegar is also the team's top rebounder with 8.0 caroms per contest and 1.8 blocks per game.
Fairfield currently owns an 8-14 overall record and a 6-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) mark. Jonathan Han leads the team in scoring with 10.8 points per game, and is tops in the MAAC for assists (6.1 apg) and minutes played (37.7 per game). Anthony Johnson is the team's top rebounder with 7.6 rebounds per contest.
The Stags return to action this weekend when they complete a three-game road trip against Manhattan College on Friday night. The weekend concludes when Fairfield hosts Iona College at 3:30 pm, the second game of a doubleheader at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
