Basketball Begins 2007-08 Campaign With Midnight Run

           FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's and women's basketball teams will begin the 2007-08 season in festive style. On Friday night, both teams will be part of a Midnight Madness celebration sponsored by Stags In The Stands, a student booster group, and the Fairfield University Student Association. The event takes place at Alumni Hall.

            The evening begins with the women's volleyball team hosting Marist College at 7 pm at Alumni Hall. Following the volleyball match, students will have an opportunity to participate in several basketball-related contests from 9-10 pm. After the contests, the women's basketball team will be introduced before taking the floor for approximately 30 minutes. The men's basketball team will follow the women's team at 10:30 pm.

            The madness continues into Saturday as both teams will host an open practice as well as a meet and greet on campus. The men's basketball team will conduct its open practice at Alumni Hall, while the women's basketball team will hold its session at the Walsh Athletic Center. Both practices begin at 9 am. A public meet and greet will take place at 4:30 pm at the Oak Room in the Barone Campus Center. Admission is $5 which includes food and beverage.
