Men's Basketball Completes Home Stand By Hosting Niagara Sunday Afternoon

Fairfield University (7-12 overall, 5-4 MAAC) will host Niagara University in a MAAC match up on Sunday afternoon, and will look for its third win in row after posting a 70-51 win over Canisius. Jonathan Han enjoyed one of his best games of the season against Canisius, making all five of his field goal attempts including four from behind the three-point line. He finished the game with a team-high 16 points, which raised his season scoring average to 11.0 points per game. Han also improved his league-leading assist total to 5.8 per game, a number which improved with his seven assists. Herbie Allen (13 points) and Anthony Johnson (12 points) also reached double figures against the Golden Griffs.

Niagara University (12-6 overall, 6-3 MAAC) comes off a 79-59 win over Saint Peter's on the road Friday night, placicng the Purple Eagles one game off the three teams that are tied for first - Rider, Marist, and Siena. Niagara and Saint Peter's were tied at 24-24 with four minutes to go in the first half, but an 11-2 run allowed the visiting team to take control of the game. Charron Fisher, who entered the week ranked third in the nation for scoring, tallied 29 points against Saint Peter's, while Tyrone Lewis added 25 points to the cause. Fisher netted most of his points from the free throw line on Friday night, making all 14 of his charity tosses. Fisher leads the team in scoring wtih 27 points per game, while Lewis (15.8 ppg) and Stanley Hodge (12.1 ppg) are also averaging in double figures. Niagara plays the fourth game in a four-game road swing today, posting a 1-2 mark in the first three games.
