2007-08
Johnson led the team in rebounding with 7.3 caroms
per contest, a mark which also placed sixth in the MAAC. The
forward also ranked among MAAC student athletes in field goal
percentage (12th at .500) and blocked shots (sixth in 1.41 per
game) He shot 59 percent from the field against MAAC opponents
which was fourth best in the conference. Johnson shot 50 percent or
better in 19 of his 30 appearances. Johnson posted six double
doubles as a sophomore. He tallied double doubles in back-to-back
games three times, the first coming against Sacred Heart (10 points
and 11 rebounds) followed by Cincinnati (12 and 11). He tallied 16
points and a personal best 14 rebounds against St. Joseph's on
December 21. He also had double doubles against Saint Peter's
(14 and 12), Rider (13 and 10) and Rider (11 and 10). Johnson shot
69 percent from the floor over the final 12 games of the season,
making 51 of 74 field goal attempts. He tallied a personal best six
steals against Sacred Heart, which helped him rank second on the
team with 33 steals for the season.
2006-07
Anthony Johnson started 31 games, missing only the Mississippi
game. He led all Fairfield newcomers with an 8.6 scoring average as
well as with a 4.8 rebounding average. The forward just missed a
double double in his debut, registering eight points and 10
rebounds against American. He narrowly missed a double double
against Manhattan with nine points and 10 rebounds, but reached the
coveted mark with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Loyola.
His 12 points started a run of five straight games of 10 or more
points, the longest streak of the season. He capped the stretch
with 16 points against William & Mary, which helped him average
15.6 points per game. Johnson scored 16 points three times during
the year (Canisius, Niagara, and William & Mary), all of which
came at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Johnson scored 10 or more points
in 12 games during the season. At the end of the regular season,
Johnson placed sixth in the MAAC for field goal percentage (.536),
seventh in blocked shots (1.03 per game), and eighth in offensive
rebounds (2.55 per game). He tallied 82 offensive rebounds during
the year, 11 more than his defensive rebound total, and had more
offensive than defensive rebounds in 15 contests.

Anthony Johnson helped Lake Wales High School win
20 or more games in each of his four seasons as a forward. The team
won 90 games during that time, including 26 victories in his senior
season. Johnson was a primary contributor to the cause as a senior,
averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. His play did not go
unnoticed by his peers, earning the team's most valuable player and
defensive player of the year awards. Johnson was also a member of
the All-Area, All-County, and All-State first team, honors which he
also secured as a sophomore and as a junior. His leadership was
recognized by his teammates as they selected him team captain for
his junior and senior seasons. Johnson was a key player in Lake
Wales run to the regional championship game in 2005-06. For his
career, Johnson averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, and three
blocks per game.
