ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Sam Spann scored a game-high 20 points as Fairfield defeated Siena 60-57 Saturday.
Spann closed an early 8-0 run with two breakaway dunks and helped Fairfield (9-16, 7-9 MAAC) build as much as an 11-point first half lead. He led the Stags with seven rebounds.
The Saints (12-16, 9-7 MAAC) went on a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter, capped with a three-pointer by Justin Miller that gave Siena a 48-47 lead.
Fairfield took the lead for good when Kudjo Sogadzi converted a free throw with just over a minute left to play.
Miller led the Saints with a season-high 17 points, and Dwayne Archbold and
Austin Andrews added nine points each. Archbold also led Siena with 11
rebounds.
