Jermaine Clark (St. Patricks High School/Jamaica, N.Y.) received his third Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week award following his two-game performance last week. The guard/forward averaged 21 points and three rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Fairfield University mens basketball team.
Clark started the week with 21 points in a 92-82 loss to Niagara University. The freshman connected for seven field goals, including four three-pointers, and registered three rebounds and two steals in 37 minutes. He played an instrumental role in the Stags 70-68 victory over St. Peters College, again scoring 21 points with four three-pointers. His biggest shot came with under two minutes remaining in the game as he netted a three-point basket to tie the game at 64-64, completing a 9-2 run which eliminated St. Peters seven-point lead.
Clark currently leads the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game and also has a team-high 32 three-point baskets. He won the MAAC Rookie of the Week award in the first two weeks of the season (November 25, December 8).
Fairfield owns a 7-5 overall record and a 2-3 MAAC mark under first-year head coach Tim OToole.
