FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team received word that it will play Loyola University-Chicago in its final non-conference game of the 2005-06 season. The game will take place on February 18 on the Ramblers campus. A game time has not been detemined at this time.
The game comes out of the original pool of teams that were under consideration for the BracketBusters presented by eBay. ESPN had selected 100 teams, representing 18 conferences, to participate in the pool, from which 26 teams (13 games) were selected for the BracketBusters field.
The Stags will host Loyola University-Chicago in a non-conference series to complete the home-and-home series next season. Fairfield participated in the BracketBuster poll last year as well, resulting in a home-and-home series with Cal State Northridge, which was completed this season.
