FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Senior Terrance Todd and freshman Herbie Allen earned post-season honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as the conference announced its men's basketball awards on Monday afternoon. Todd received a spot on the All-MAAC second team, while Allen collected a berth on the MAAC All-Rookie squad. Allen is now eligible for the MAAC Rookie of the Year award, which will be announced Friday, March 3 in Albany, N.Y.

Todd, who started the season as a member of the All-MAAC pre-season team, finished the regular season as the team's top scorer at 18.7 points per game. His scoring average was strong enough to place fourth overall in the MAAC as well. In conference play, Todd averaged 21.3 points per game, one of only four players in the MAAC to score more than 20 points per game. Todd became only the sixth player in Fairfield University men's basketball history to reach 1,500 career points, scoring the prestigious point against Marist College in the regular-season finale. Todd tallied 20 or more points in 10 games this year, including two 30-plus point performances.

Allen developed into one of Fairfield's top long-range shooters over the course of this season. He finished up the regular-season by shooting 43 percent overall, as well as from three-point range. Allen placed third among his teammates with 33 three-point baskets. The guard earned the MAAC Rookie of the Week award twice, most recently on January after leading the team to a 2-1 week by averaging 12.3 points per game. For the season, Allen averaged 6.5 points per game, aided by his seven double-figure performances. The freshman tallied a career-high 20 points against Manhattan.

Fairfield University, under head coach Tim O'Toole, finished the regular season with a 9-18 overall record and a 7-11 MAAC mark. The Stags will play Niagara University in the first round of the MAAC tournament on Friday, March 3 at the Pepsi Arena at Albany, N.Y. Game time is slated for 7 pm.
