FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Michael Bell (Marshalltown, Iowa) and Bryan Cambria (Windsor, Conn.) were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Basketball All-Academic team. Fairfield University comprised two of the 13 berths awarded for the 2005-06 season.
Bell returns to the MAAC All-Academic once again as a finance major. The forward started 14 of his 28 appearance in 2005-06, and finished the campaign with a 7.6 scoring average. He netted 46 three-point baskets during the year, 65 percent of his 71 total field goals. Bell tallied 736 career points in his four seasons with the Stags. His 123 three-point baskets places him fourth all-time in Fairfield University basketball history, while his 333 three-point attempts also ranks him fifth on the Fairfield charts.
Cambria came off the bench in all of his 2005-06 appearances. The guard saw action in several non-conference as well as MAAC games during the year. In non-conference action, Cambria played against St. Joseph's University, Georgetown University, and Fordham University. Cambria has not declared a major.
