FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Sam Spann, a forward with the Fairfield University men's basketball team, collected one of nine spots on the New England Division I Senior All-Star Squad, which will play a game against the Division II All-Stars on Wednesday, April 10. The game will be played on the College of the Holy Cross campus. A Division III Senior All-Star game is also scheduled for 6:00 pm that night.

Spann finished his senior season with a 12.1 scoring and a 6.2 rebounding average, helping Fairfield reach the semi-finals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament. The forward registered four double-doubles during the regular-season, the last of which was a triple-double. Spann tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in Fairfield's 95-75 win over St. Peter's College.

Spann, who transferred to Fairfield from Syracuse University, capped his collegiate career with All-MAAC second team honors last month. He finished his two-plus seasons at Fairfield with 902 points and 517 rebounds in 79 games.

The Stags ended the campaign with a 12-17 overall record and a 9-9 MAAC mark under fourth-year head coach Tim O'Toole.
