FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Guard Michael Bell (Marshalltown, Iowa) earned a spot on the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team, one of 18 spots on the national team. The award is the second academic honor for Bell, who also received All-Academic accolades from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) earlier in the year.

The team included 10 members plus eight honorable mention slots, with each member earning at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and playing in at least 50 percent of the team's games. Bell is studying finance at Fairfield University.

Bell started 14 of his 28 appearance in 2005-06, and finished the campaign with a 7.6 scoring average. He netted 46 three-point baskets during the year, 65 percent of his 71 total field goals. Bell tallied 736 career points in his four seasons with the Stags. His 123 three-point baskets ties him for third all-time in Fairfield University basketball history, while his 333 three-point attempts also ranks him fifth on the Fairfield charts.
