FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Freshman Greg Nero received the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rookie of the week award after averaging 18.5 points per game over two games last week. He led the team in scoring in both contests.
The freshman started his career by scoring a team-high 14 points against American University, and followed up netting a 23 points in overtime at the College of the Holy Cross. He also averaged six rebounds per game. His .500 field goal percentage also leads the team.
The Stags resume action on Tuesday, November 14 when they travel to Saint Joseph's University. Fairfield will also play three games over the weekend as part of the Hispanic College Fund Classic, battling Mississippi, Connecticut, and Central Arkansas.
