FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The men's basketball team concludes its exhibition season with a November 15 match up with the Upstate All-Stars at Alumni Hall. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
The Upstate All-Stars lost their exhibition game against Siena College on November 13, as the Saints posted a 94-89 overtime decision against the All-Stars. Siena held a one-point halftime advantage, 44-43, but the Upstate team came back to tie the game in the second half. The Saints outscored the opposition by a 17-12 margin in overtime.
The team is made up of former players from upstate New York colleges and universities. Lawrence Moten scored a game-high 42 points in 39 minutes, making 16 of 30 shots from the floor. He also tallied seven three-point baskets. Kevin Houston was the only other player in double-figures with 10 points. Ryan Blackwell, who scored three points, was the team's top rebounder with six caroms.
Siena's Brent Sniezyk tallied a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Prosper Karangwa added 33 points and eight rebounds. Karangwa netted 10 of 17 shots from the floor, which included five of seven three-point baskets.
