Fairfield, Conn. -- Leroy Robertson made 10 of 13 field goal attempts and tallied a team-high 22 points, helping Fairfield University post a 102-71 victory over the USDBL All-Stars in an exhibition game. Robertson made all four of his second-half shots and scored 10 points in the final 20 minutes.
The Stags scored the first eight points of the first half, led by Nick Delfico's two layups. The All-Stars gained the lead three minutes later, taking a 15-14 edge following Darwin Carr's three-point basket. Following a 30-second Fairfield timeout, Robertson scored six straight points to give Fairfield the lead for good, 20-15. USDBL pulled within two points a couple of minutes later, as Donald Moxley's three-pointer made the score 22-20 with 9:59 remaining.
The All-Stars never came closer as a three-point play by Rob Thomson made the score 25-20 on the team's next possession. Fairfield went on to enjoy a nine-point halftime lead, 40-31, and increased that advantage with a 10-4- start to the second half for a 50-35 lead. The Stags led by double-digits from that point, and led by as many as 38 points, 89-51 with five minutes remaining.
Jeremy Logan added 21 points to the Fairfield cause, while Delfico and Rivers each added 13 points for the Stags. Moxley was the All-Star team's top scorer with 22 points, while Pop Anderson contributed 13 points and Jamal Phillips had 12 points for USDBL.
Fairfield returns to the regular season schedule on Friday, December 1 when it plays Virginia Tech in the first round of the Carrier Classic tournament, hosted by Syracuse University.
