FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Senior Kudjo Sogadzi (Paris, France) earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week award after averaging 17.5 points in Fairfield University's 2-0 week.

Sogadzi opened the week by scoring 10 points in an 81-73 double overtime win against Manhattan College at home. The guard tallied the final four points of the first overtime, including the tying basket which sent the game to a second overtime. He went two for five from the floor and five of six from the free throw line in 20 minutes of work.

He followed up that performance by equaling his career high with 25 points in an 81-80 overtime victory at Canisius College. Sogadzi tallied 20 of his 25 points in the second half and overtime. His free throw with a few seconds remaining iced the game, giving Fairfield an 81-77 lead. He added two assists and three steals and tied his personal best with six rebounds against the Golden Griffs.

Over the last three games, Sogadzi has scored 41 points (13.7 ppg), all coming as a reserve. He currently ranks fifth on the team with a 6.8 scoring average, and is the top scoring reserve on the squad.

Fairfield University, under head coach Tim O'Toole, owns a 4-2 overall record and a 2-0 MAAC mark. The Stags return to action on December 7 when they travel to St. Joseph's University for a 7 pm game. The Red and White play their next home game on December 14 against Harvard University at 7:30 pm.
