
Stags Finish 18th At 73rd Annual NEIGA Championship

The Fairfield University men’s golf team completed play at
the 73rd Annual NEIGA Championship in a three-way tie for 18th
place, with a two-day team total of 638 (+62). The Stags shot
a 323 in the second round, after shooting 315 in the opening
round.
Kevin
Fitzpatrick and R.J.
Zielinski tied for the honors of the Stags top
finisher, sharing a two-day score of 157, +13. Fitzpatrick
shot 77-80 for the event, while Zielinski reversed the scores,
shooting 80-77. The duo tied, with four other players, for
51st.
Rob
Tarrallo was the Stags next finisher, shooting 78-82,
for a two-day 160, +16, good for a tie in 72nd place. Nick
Gliozzo placed 106th at the event, with a 164, +20, at
the event, shooting 80-84. William
Onstott rounded out the Stags effort with a 168, +24,
shooting 81-87 to finish in a tie for 136th.
The University of Rhode Island captured the team title with a
two-day 600, +24. Brian Cawley of Salem State was the
individual champion, shooting even par, 144. The championship
featured 42 collegiate teams from throughout New England and has
209 players complete both rounds of play.
