Fairfield University golfers Alicia Esposito (Middletown, Conn.) and R.J. Zielinski (Tolland, Conn.) were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Golf Team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Esposito is a sophomore at Fairfield and is majoring in mechanical engineering, and is a graduate of Mercy High School.  She finished in 11th place at the MAAC Championship this past weekend.

Zielinski is a junior accounting major that graduated from Tolland High School.  He finished ninth at the MAAC Championship, his second consecutive top-10 finish at the event.

The Fairfield women’s team finished second at the conference championship, while the men finished in a tie for fifth place.
