Roberto Voted To Full PGA Membership
Dec 2, 2009
Fairfield University Director of Men's and Women's golf Len Roberto was voted as a full member of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) on Wednesday. The selection comes a week after his successful completion of the PGA Professional Golf Management program.
"I am honored to be accepted as a full member of the PGA," Roberto said. "The PGA is committed to teaching and expanding the game of golf and I look forward to being a part of that worthy effort."
The PGM program has three levels, which culminated with a final presentation and exams this November. Roberto passed the four exams on the opening day of the conference and had his presentation passed by a panel of PGA members and his peers. The final step of the certification process was a one-on-one interview with a PGA Professional.
Roberto is in his 12th season as the head coach of the men's golf program and his fifth at the helm of both squads, having taken responsibility for the women's team for the 2005-06 season. He was twice been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year, 2004 and 2008. The Stags have seen success in the classroom as well as on the course under Roberto, with two players earning GCAA Scholar All-America honors.
