The Fairfield University men's golf team began the spring portion of the season at the Jackson State University Touranment, played at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club (par 72) in Philadelphia, Miss. In an event shortened to one round, due to inclement weather, the Stags shot a team total of 322 to tie with Chicago State for seventh place, out of the 13 team event.

Jonathan Vannelli paced the Stags effort, finishing in 10th, as he shot a three-over, 75. Matt Ferringo was the Stags second finisher, as he shot a round of 80, placing 34th. R.J. Zielinksi shot an 11-over, 83, to finish in a tie for 50th, one spot ahead of Rob Tarrallo, who finished in a tie for 52nd. Matt Herlihy rounded out the Stags effort, finishing tied for 57th, with a round of 87.

Winthrop University won the event with a team round of 297, followed closely by the host, who shot a 299. Jackson State's Raul Cortes shot a tournament best 72, with a back nine of 33.

The Stags return to action March 10 - March 15, when they host the Fairfield University Spring Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
