March 13, 2007 The Fairfield University men's golf team finished fifth at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. Fairfield shot a team total 317 in the first round, good for seventh place. However, on day two, the Stags posted the fourth-best team round, 310, to move into fifth place, with a two-day 627. Indiana University shot 605 as a team to capture the team crown.

Dan Quatrocelli was the team's top finisher, placing in 11th place with a two-day 153, +9. After shooting an 81 on the first day, the Stags senior shot par, 72, in the second round, to move up the charts.

Rob Tarallo played solid for the entire tournament, finishing in a tie for 15th place, with a 155, +11. He shot 78 on day one and improved a stroke to 77, in the second round. William Onstott finished in a three-way tie for 30th, with a two-day 160, +16. He shot his best round on day one, with a 79, following with an 81 on day two.

Sophomore R.J. Zielinski finished in a three-way tie for 37th at the event. He shot 79-84, for a two-day 163, +19. Newcomer Kevin Fitzpatrick started slowly, shooting a first round 86, but rebounded well on the second day, with a round of 80. His two-day 166, +22, was good for 44th place.

The Stags are hosting the Fairfield Spring Invitational in Mrytle Beach, S.C., March 16-17 at Crown Park Golf Course.
