The Fairfield University men's golf team shot a two-day 604 to finish seventh out of 16 teams at the New England Division I Championship. The event was played at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, R.I., a par-72 course, playing 6,522 yards.

The Stags opened the event with a first round 304, putting them in a sixth-place tie with Central Connecticut State. The second round, Fairfield shot a 300, coming up a stroke shy of Boston College, which shot 300-303 to finish sixth at 603. Binghamton won the team event with a two-day 580. Rhode Island (587) finished second, followed by Hartford (596), Yale (597) and Brown (598). CCSU finsihed a psot behind Fairfield at 606. The Stags also knocked of Connecticut (609), Dartmouth (611), and Harvard (611) at the event.

Dan Quatrocelli was the Stags top individual finisher, as he placed in a tie for 11th place with a two-day 147. He shots the team's best two rounds, 73-74, at the championship.

Jonathan Vanelli was two-strokes back of his teammate, finishing in a 17th place tie with a 149. He opened with a 75, and then equaled the team's best round, with a 74 on the second day.

William Onstott shot 78-75 for a two-day 153, which was food for a 36th place tie. Rob Tarallo shot 78-77 for a 155 and a tie for 43rd place. Matt Ferringo show 82-83 at the event, a 165 two-day mark, and placed in a 72nd place tie.

The Stags are scheduled to compete at the Saint Peter's Invitational on April 25-26 before departing for Orlando, Fla. and the MAAC Championship, April 26 - May 1.
