EASTON, MD: The Fairfield University men's golf team placed 12th overall at this past weekend's Canisius College Spring Invitational held at the Easton Country Club in Easton, MD. Rookie Jonathan Vannelli paced the Stags with a combined score of 168, good for 39th overall.
Vannelli opened with a first round 87, then shaved six strokes for a second round 81. Junior Tom Leaver was Fairfield's next best scorer, placing tied for 43rd with combined score of 170. Senior Christopher Novak posted a 174 good for a tie for 60th, while classmate Michael Gearan fired a two-round total 184 good for 60th. Sophomore Rudy Pino rounded out the Stags scores with a 196 combined score.
The Stags are back in action this Tuesday at the St. Peter's College Invitational, held in Jersey City, NJ.
