The Fairfield University men's golf team shot a team 312 in the final round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship at the Magnolia Golf Course at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The Stags finished the three-round event in seventh place, at +65 as a team.
R.J. Zielinski shot a 74 on the third day, on the par-72, 6,852 yard course, the second lowest round of the day. The strong finish moved him into fifth place, with a +87, 224, for the event, moving up from 10th place after two rounds.
Greg Elting shot a third-round 78, and finished the tournament in 12th place, at +12, 228. Dan Quatrocelli completed his Fairfield career with a round of 80 on Sunday. He finished in a tie for 23rd, shooting a +18, 234 over the course of the tournament.
William Onstott shot an 83 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 36th place, at +30. Rob Tarallo improved his score for the third straight round, shooting an 80 on Sunday. He finished in 40th place, with a +34, 250.
Siena won the title with a +31, 895, over the three days.
