REHOBOTH BEACH, DE - The Fairfield University men's golf team struggled this weekend, shooting a 642 to place ninth at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 6,615-yard Kings Creek Country Club on the Delaware shore.

George Washington's Andrew Gallo fired a three-under-par 141 to lead the Colonials to the team title with a 588 as Drexel finished one stroke off the pace with a 589.

Fairfield was led by Matt Ferigno who shot an opening round 75 and followed that with a 77 on Monday to take 13th place with a two-day total of 152 (+8). Sophomore Jonathan Vannelli (Philadelphia, Pa.) tied for 26th place with a 158 (+14) while senior Jim Turnesa (Elmsford, NY) shot a 164 (+20) for 37th place. Dan Quatrocelli and sophomore Nate Edwards (Cotuit, MA) rounded out the scoring for the Stags, shooting a 168 (+24) and 172 (+28), respectively.

Fairfield is back in action Oct. 4-5 as they participate in the Army Invitational at West Point, N.Y.
