WEST POINT, N.Y. - Fairfield University junior Jonathan Vannelli (Medford, N.J.) shot rounds of 70 and 71 for a 36-hole score of 141 (+1) to take medallist honors at Army's Mulekicker Fall Golf Classic on Sunday afternoon at the 6,036-yard, par-70 West Point Golf Course. The win is the first of the season for Vannelli and the third of his collegiate career as he won both the Peacock Invitational and the New England Championship as a freshman.

Central Connecticut won the two-day event with rounds of 292 and 290, finishing one stroke in front of the host Black Knights and Binghamton University. The Stags finished the event tied for 14th place overall with a team total 629.

Junior Matt Ferrigno (Lincroft, N.J.) carded rounds of 78 and 76 for a two-day total of 154 (+14), good for 48th place overall. Junior Nathan Edwards (Cotuit, Mass.) improved by five strokes on the second day to shoot a 165 (+25) to tie for 68th. Freshman Adam Pecora (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) finished with a 169 (+29) to tie for 73rd and senior Rudy Pino (New Canaan, Conn.) rounded out the Stags with a 181 (+41).

Fairfield concludes the fall season in two weeks as they travel to Cape Code, Mass., to take part in the NEIGA at the Captains Golf Course on Sun., Oct. 17 through Tues., Oct. 19.
