BREWSTER, Mass. - Senior Jonathan Vannelli (Medford, N.J.) carded a two-day total of 150 (+7) to tie for sixth-place overall at the 70th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship.

The 46-team tournament, which was won by the University of Connecticut with a team total 606 (+34), was played at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass. Bryant College and the University of Rhode Island tied for second overall shooting a 610 (+38) while the Stags finished five-strokes out of making the top-ten and tied for 11th place with the University of New Haven as both teams shot a 641 (+69). Medallist honors went to Patrick Fillian of Sacred Heart who shot a 145 (+2) to finish first out of 230 golfers.

Junior Matt Ferrigno (Lincroft, N.J.) tied for 81st-place overall by shooting identical rounds of 82 to finish the tournament at +21. Freshman Adam Pecora (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and junior Nathan Edwards (Cotuit, Mass.) finished one-stroke back with a two-day total of 165 (+22) to tie for 90th-place. Rob Tarallo finished in 105th place with a 166 (+23).

The Stag are back in action in their final fall tournament as they head to Hamden, Conn., to participate in the Quinnipiac Invitational on Fri., Oct. 22.
