BREWSTER, Mass. -- Jonathan Vannelli was Fairfield University's top finisher at the New England Championships, taking 17th overall as the Stags secured 16th position in the tournament. The NEIGA championship included 45 teams from the New England area.
The Fairfield golf team finished the two-day event with a team score of 664 (328 on day one, 336 on day two). The University of Rhode Island won the event with a score of 610, five strokes better than runner-up Central Connecticut State University's tally of 615 strokes.
Head Coach Len Roberto's squad finished in the top 10 among Division I programs, placing eighth in that division.
