
Matt Scanlon Named To All-ECAC Lacrosse League Team

Fairfield University senior men’s lacrosse player Matt
Scanlon (Bel Air, Md.) was named to the ECAC Lacrosse League First
Team as a defender, announced on Wednesday by the league
office. The long-stick midfielder also earned second team
accolades as a specialist.
Scanlon, a graduate of john Carroll High School, started all 13
games for the Stags this season. He was the team leader in
caused turnovers with 25 on the year as the Stags led the ECAC in
that category. It marked his second year leading the team in
that category, recording 47 caused turnovers in his final 25
collegiate games. A team captain, Scanlon also led the Stags with
42 ground balls.
Scanlon is the second Stag in program history to earn ECAC
accolades, joining two-time first team selection Greg
Downing. He was also named first team All-NEILA after his
junior campaign.
The Stags completed their third season as a member of the
eight-team ECAC Lacrosse League.
