2006 Season: Francini established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the MAAC last season, posting a 0.80 goals against average in 22 games. He led all conference goalkeepers in goals against average, the only student athlete with an average below 1.00. Francini earned All-MAAC first team honors in 2006, after winning three MAAC defensive player of the week awards (August 28, October 2, October 9). He posted six shutouts during the campaign, including three straight in the regular-season finale (Niagara) and two MAAC tournament games (Loyola) and Saint Peter's. He tallied a season-high nine saves in the a 2-1 overtime win against Dartmouth College. Francini allowed just three goals in post-season play last year, all of which came in the NCAA tournament (one vs. UConn, two vs. Towson). The goalkeeper allowed two goals in three games last season, and did not allow more than that total in any one game. Fairfield owned a 15-3-1 record in games that Francini allowed one or less goals.
2005 Season: Francini appeared in four games as a sophomore, accumulating 75 minutes in the goal. He played more than a half in a 6-0 win against Canisius College, making two saves to help with the combined shutout. He also posted a pair of saves in a win against Manhattan College, recording the stats in just under 17 minutes of work. He also posted a save in the Stags 3-0 victory against Niagara University in the MAAC tournament semi-finals. Francini's first 2005 appearance came on October 11, a 5-0 win over Adelphi. He played 10 minutes without having to make a save in the shutout.
2004 Season: Francini provided the Stags with a solid player throughout the season, spending most of the year as the team's reserve goalkeeper. Francini picked up 12-plus minutes of work in a combined shutout against Manhattan College. He did not make a save in the 4-0 victory.
Before Fairfield: Francini was the starting goalkeeper at Bergen Catholic High School as a sophomore and junior, and helped the team to several successful campaigns. As a result to his stellar play, Franchini earned All-New Jersey honors as a senior. He spent one year at Don Bosco Prep. Franchini plans to study computer science while attending Fairfield University.
